RICH & HUMBLE LTD exists to help organisations plan, build and operate the software and infrastructure they depend on — with the rigour of a serious engineering group and the restraint of a partner that plans to still be relevant to the client in five years.
Who we are.
RICH & HUMBLE LTD is an independent technology practice. We work with product teams and technical leadership on systems that need to be trusted — the ones customers depend on, the ones regulators scrutinise, and the ones that the business quietly refuses to replace because they always work.
The organisation is structured around senior practitioners with delivery accountability, not layered account management. Engagements are shaped by the actual problem, not by a template.

How we choose technology.
We select tools according to how well they fit the problem, how mature their ecosystem is, and how likely they are to be operable by the client's team in five years' time. Novelty is not, by itself, an argument.
Where a proven, well-supported technology exists, we prefer it. Where a newer technology genuinely reduces risk or cost over its lifetime, we adopt it deliberately and document the reasoning.
What quality means here.
Quality is not a review at the end of a project. It is a series of defaults: code review, automated tests calibrated to risk, reproducible builds, dependency hygiene, structured logging, and controlled release into production.
These practices are non-negotiable because they are what keeps a system healthy after delivery — the phase in which most of a system's life is actually spent.
Security by design.
Security is embedded in the delivery process. Threat modelling happens during architecture. Identity, authorisation and secrets management are designed before implementation. Dependencies are reviewed continuously, and access is scoped to the minimum necessary for the work.
For teams already in production, we conduct focused reviews and hardening exercises with prioritised, executable remediation plans.

The client is not a stakeholder to be managed. The client is the organisation that will operate the system after we leave, and every decision is made accordingly.
The people who do the work.
Engagements are led and delivered by senior practitioners with background in software engineering, cloud architecture, data platforms, and security. Specialists join for the phases where their contribution changes the outcome.
We deliberately staff small teams. Smaller teams share context faster, produce more coherent designs, and are easier to hold accountable for outcomes.
How the practice works internally.
Writing is central to how we operate. Designs are documented, architectural decisions are recorded with their trade-offs, and reviews are conducted in writing so that the reasoning survives personnel changes.
The culture rewards clarity over cleverness. A design that a new engineer can understand in an afternoon is worth more than one that requires the original author to explain.
Where the practice is heading.
Our long-term intention is to remain a focused engineering practice — growing in the areas where clients derive lasting value, and resisting the pressure to become a general services organisation with diluted standards.
